Miracle Marathon to Support Beaumont Children’s Hospital, Detroit

Save the Date - MM2014

I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining the 27.2 Miracle Marathon which helps the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. My hospital of choice is Beaumont Children’s Hospital in Royal Oak, MI. Great hospital, great cause, great to be a part of.  I’m on a mission to get back on the exercise track while saving kids’ lives. Since a traditional marathon is 26.2 miles, Miracle Marathon is adding 1 extra mile “for the kids.”

So, I laced up my sneakers and logged Day 1 of the C25k program. This is my 3rd or 4th time starting C25k. The furthest I got was week 3 or 4 and then I quit. Osteoarthritis and degenerative disc are only half the running battle. The good part about this marathon is that I don’t do it all at once. You do a mile a day. So, over the course of 27 days participants can walk, run, dance, skip or any other movement to reach the goal.

Doesn’t that sound like fun??

I’m on fellow MI blogger, Detroit Metro Mommy team if you would like to join us! Check out her post on her website as she has a valuable coupon code.  Please note that you can sign up as a free person without the swag, but those spaces are limited.

Don’t want to participate, but still want to help?  Please consider donating to help me reach my goal.

I’ll be posting my progress here on Everyday Living with Chrys, so I do hope you will follow along!

    • It’s not. This is a hospital in Detroit. The hospital does a lot for the state so that is why I decided to go with them and join the team that I did.

    • It’s a virtual marathon. You do a mile a day. Run, walk, dance, skip. Whatever you want. And, there are networks all over the nation, you don’t have to pick my team or the hospital I am with.

  27. I don’t live too far from Detroit! This is a great cause I can’t run a marathon but i like to volunteer at them.

    • I am about an hour away from Detroit. Small world ;) What I like is that you don’t have to run and you only have to do a mile a day.
